After last year’s thrilling district championship win, Coach Coleman enters the 2024-2025 season with a fresh perspective and high expectations. Despite the challenge of losing seven seniors, Coach Coleman remains confident in his ability to develop a new team ready to compete at a high level.

I recently had the chance to sit down with Coach Coleman to discuss his thoughts on the season ahead. His philosophy centers on defense and holding players accountable for what they can control, such as effort, attitude, and discipline. He also places a strong

emphasis on commitment and dedication, essential traits for any successful program.

A key focus for the Dragons this year is to build on their defensive intensity and play at a fast pace, especially as they adapt to a smaller lineup without a traditional big man. Coach Coleman’s goals are ambitious yet achievable: winning the conference tournament and competing for another district title.

The team will rely on its returning core of players—Jeffrey Hunter, Alex Basler, Deven Flye, and Eli Bennett—to lead the charge and set an example for the newer members. These athletes bring experience and a drive to uphold the program’s proud legacy.

Guiding the Dragons is Coach Coleman’s steadfast belief in the “6 Ps of Sports Success”: Pride, Passion, Prepared, Productive, Positive, and Poised. These principles form the foundation of his coaching style and inspire the team to strive for greatness both on and off the court.

Though the roster may look different, the Dragons are united in their determination to rise to the challenge. With a focus on teamwork, speed, and unwavering dedication, they are ready to make this another season to remember.

Best of luck to Coach Coleman and the Dragons as they embark on this exciting new chapter!
