Lady Dragons Close 2025 Season  Celebrating Milestones and New Beginnings

The Lady Dragons concluded their 2025 season with a commendable 14–10 record. This year's roster featured a strong group of upperclassmen, including six seniors: Ava Greer, Ava Huber, Chloe Staffen, Mariah Abt, Autem Werner, and Alyssa Cook, all of whom are graduating this year. Returning juniors such as Alyssa Beckerman, Brinna Plaff, and Linley Wehner are poised to continue the team's legacy in the upcoming season.While the Lady Dragons fell short of achieving their goal of winning a district championship, as set by Coach Keim at the season's outset, they demonstrated resilience and teamwork throughout the year.

Notably, Chloe Staffen and Ava Huber have earned opportunities to further their softball careers at Saint Charles Community College, a testament to their dedication and skill. Additionally, a special congratulations to Ava Greer for reaching a remarkable milestone—500 strikeouts in her high school pitching career.

Sainte Genevieve Baseball Team Advances to Class 2 District Championship

This year's baseball team's roster featured a youthful lineup, with only two seniors: Isaiah Basler and Devin Flye. Their leadership and experience have been invaluable to the team's development. Key returning juniors include Luke Ferranto, Justin Schweigert, Eli Bennett, Ethan Ottens, Sawyer Bauman, Jeremiah Bird, Colten Brace, and Brendon Sexton. Additionally, underclassmen Noah Willett and Dominic Johnson have played pivotal roles, contributing significantly to the team's success despite their youth.

As the team approaches the district championship, they aim to build on their achievements and continue their growth. The upcoming game against Perryville presents an opportunity to showcase their development and determination. Congratulations to the team for their hard work and dedication this season. Best of luck in the championship game!

Dragon’s Track Team Shines at Sectionals, Advances to State Championships

The Lady Dragons track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the sectional meet, securing a team victory with a total of 105 points. This impressive achievement has earned them a spot at the state championships, where they will compete this Friday and Saturday.

Laurie Parker clinched 2nd place in the 1600 meters, showcasing her endurance and speed.

Kayden Huck dominated the 100-meter hurdles with a 1st place finish, added a 4th place in the javelin, and secured 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles.

Kale Clemens exhibited versatility with a 2nd place in the 400 meters and a 1st place in the 800 meters.

Hollyn Zangaro achieved 3rd place in the 800 meters and topped the field in the 3200 meters.

Bri Abt earned 4th place in the shot put, demonstrating strength and technique.                         

Aila Wolk secured 3rd place in the pole vault, clearing impressive heights.

Ashlyn Wehner tied for 4th place in the pole vault, showcasing consistency and skill.

In the field events. Paul Taylor delivered a remarkable performance in the shot put, setting a new school record earlier this month the previous sot record stood for over 30 years 18.89 meter or 61.99 feet His achievement underscores the team's depth and talent across disciplines. The Dragons are set to compete at the state championships this weekend, where they aim to build on their sectional success and showcase their skills on a larger stage. Congratulations to all the athletes for their hard work and dedication. Best of luck at state!

Sainte Genevieve Golf Team: A Season of Growth and Achievement

The Sainte Genevieve High School golf team showcased remarkable development during the 2024–2025 season. With a roster predominantly composed of underclassmen, the team demonstrated resilience and potential throughout the year.

  • Seniors: Aiden Roth

  • Juniors: Madden Wolk

  • Sophomores: Nate Basler, Blake Naeger, Colton Roth, Nolan Slinkard, Mason Trollinger, Chase Yamnitz, Lucas Horrell

  • Freshmen: Finn McClard, Atreyu Gettler, Brayden Pfaff

This season marked the return of Coach Mueller, who resumed his role after a hiatus, bringing renewed energy and guidance to the team. Despite the team's youth, they displayed commendable skill and sportsmanship throughout the season. A notable achievement was sophomore Chase Yamnitz being named the team's Most Valuable Player, reflecting his dedication and performance on the course. As the season concludes, the team is poised for continued growth and success in the coming years. With a solid foundation and promising talent, the future of Sainte Genevieve golf looks bright.
