The Ste. Genevieve High School Girls Basketball team kicked off their season with an impressive showing at the jamboree, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. Head Coach Walk has high hopes for the Lady Dragons, aiming to finish above .500 and compete in the district championships—a testament to her belief in the team’s potential.
When asked about her coaching philosophy, Coach Walk shared an inspiring perspective:

“It’s not all about basketball; it’s about being good people.” This mindset reflects her dedication to shaping well-rounded student-athletes both on and off the court.
The team is anchored by a talented group of returning players, including Chloe Staffen, Brianna Abt, Ava Abt, Lexi Warren, Kayden Huck, Sadie Greminger, and Autumn Werner. Standout athletes Chloe Staffen and Brianna Abt were honored last season with All-Conference and All-District selections, showcasing their skill and leadership on the court.
Key to the Lady Dragons’ success this year will be their ability to execute game plans and maintain strong teamwork. The team emphasizes putting collective goals above individual achievements, with all five players working together seamlessly—a strategy that will be crucial in achieving their season goals.
With a strong foundation of talent, a clear vision, and a focus on character and teamwork, the Lady Dragons are poised for an unforgettable season. Best of luck to the team as they take on the competition and continue to represent Ste. Genevieve with pride and determination!
